I was sent to Queen Elizabeth due to a complication following hysterectomy surgery to have further surgery. I was admitted to the Urology ward.
Whilst it was obvious this was a busy ward, I found the communication, care, compassion and welcoming faces lacking, and I was left to feel invisible during what I can only describe as a very vulnerable and scary time for me.
I was only 24 hours post-op following an extensive and complicated hysterectomy and needed reassurance, which again I found lacking.
