I should have been receiving an eye injection in December 2023 at the latest, but the appointment never arrived.
I suffered a bleed in my left eye causing my central vision to deteriorate to the point that I now can no longer read without using an illuminated magnifying glass, whereas before I could read with my prescription reading glasses.
Because the eye casualty won't see you if you are under the care of the macular clinic I referred myself for a PEARS appointment at my opticians who told me what was happening with my eye, he forwarded his report to the Macular clinic and advised me to contact the clinic ASAP to get my appointment. I phoned as soon as I returned home from the opticians and the earliest appointment meant I still had to wait.
I believe that if I received my appointment when I should have received it I don't think that I would have suffered the bleed in my eye and that my central vision wouldn't have deteriorated the way that it did. I should have received my next injection at the end of January but it arrived for mid February, my eyesight has suffered because I haven't received my injections when I should have.
