Our family was devastated by the loss of someone we love. He spent four days under the care of the ICU team, and I know they moved heaven and earth to try and help him but it was too late by the time he arrived. What they were able to do was ensure his comfort and freedom from pain or suffering. And they never gave up on him, until the very end when they confirmed there was simply nothing left to do.
They also went above and beyond to care for his loved ones as we processed and grieved. Their communication to us was excellent, they were incredibly respectful towards him and to us, they answered all of our questions honestly, fully and with empathy. To lose someone suddenly at a young age is traumatic but we have no doubt that everything possible was done for him.
I cannot express my gratitude deeply enough to the medical and support staff for the care, patience and understanding the showed not only to their patient but his family, too.
