While my husband was attending A&E for leg injury he required pain relief. No one checked his date of birth before giving him the medication. He never had a wrist band on with name, DOB and his allergies. He is allergic to morphine and they tried to give him some for pain relief, he has previously had oxycodone but was told they didn't have any other pain relief except paracetamol and ibuprofen, which he was given. They also Checked his BP with was over 200/100, and the nurse just said that's fine. I'm a nurse and was concerned about these facts. The nursing staff were good and attentive but I worry that if he wasn't alert mistakes could of been made. He has since followed up the bps.
"Staff good but no medication checking and no monitoring"
