I was admitted to the day surgery unit at Vale of Leven Hospital for an inguinal hernia procedure. Reception and the necessary paperwork was carried out by various nurses in a kindly and efficient manner with a lovely 'injection of humour'. They set out exactly what going to happen in the day
The consultant surgeon Miss Chisholm explained the procedure in detail inviting questions and also what would happen post op’. Also with a wry sense of humour. The anaesthetist visited going through his part of the procedure again inviting questions.
In the recovery room I was well attended and given time to come round. I was then moved back to the small ward and well looked after receiving the best toast and cup of tea ever. Interaction with the nurses was excellent and again humour was an important part of the process.
My discharge was straightforward. I left with a feeling of having experienced a heart warming day if that makes sense!
"A great experience"
