I recently transferred from the Western General Hospital to ward 102 at Edinburgh Royal infirmary to undergo a pleurdesis lung surgical procedure.
This is a very busy ward which deals with major cardio-thoracic surgery. I found the quality of care to be very high with the staff working exceptionally hard to attend to all patients equally and sensitively.
The senior nurse, Sam, is an incredible organiser who ensures that her team gets through an inordinate amount of work on each shift. It is hard to single out individual staff as post operation medication often makes it a challenge to remember everyone's names.
Young nurse Kirsti is an exceptional human being who showed kindness, compassion, knowledge and an impressive maturity of judgment way beyond her years. She was well assisted by her teammates Bethan, Paul, Simi and Karen.
Thanks to all for nursing me back to improved health and fitness in a speedy and safe manner. You've left me with many good memories.
