I was referred to the hospital for tests after a visit to my GP. I had been feeling quite unwell over a period of time and my GP couldn't get to the bottom of the issue. My GP referred me to the hospital via the RCDS team at Victoria Hospital. I had not thought about cancer as a possible issue and initially was concerned what the outcome might be.
I was contacted by a member of the RCDS unit and straight away I was reassured that this was purely exploratory and as the pathway was quick I would be given the results of any tests in a timely manner.
I didn't expect it to be quite as fast as it was. All within two weeks I was contacted given hospital appointments for a scan and endoscopy and then had the results. Luckily all was clear of cancer.
Please pass on my thanks to everyone who dealt with my visit to the hospital for these tests. The service from the staff was exceptional. I felt extremely relieved and the speed of the process made it a worrying time less stressful.
