"Treated with utmost respect and care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Cardiology (Ward 4) University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Emergency admission following gallbladder surgery @ another hospital, which all went well.

My husband experienced sudden onset of shortness of breath.   He had called me at work and could not put two words together. I called 999 on my way to home, and on arrival the paramedics were in attendance and working on him.  ECG, observations. Oxygen.   They blue lighted him to Wishaw General.   Arrived in Resus, then sent to Cardiology/HDU where he was well looked after, monitored, treated and home within a week. Diagnosed with a blood clot on his lung following his recent surgery.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff in A&E Wishaw general, Dr Sam and the resus nurse on dayshift duty - as there was so much going on they made my husband feel at ease and treated him with the  utmost respect and care.  His journey to the ward and eventually home was easy for him, especially as this was only his 3rd hospital stay and first time ever in an ambulance, especially blue lights!

Thank you again to all you amazing staff, the outcome could have been very different.

Dear Nisbet281,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, cardiology and emergency department.

What a frightening time that must have been for you both. I am so pleased to hear that Dr Sam and the resus staff helped to reassure you and make you both feel at ease. I am glad you were able to get a quick diagnosis and treatment.

I look forward to passing your kind words on to the who team in the Emergency Department as well as Cardiology who I am sure will be delighted to hear your feedback and get a real boost from it.

I hope your husband is feeling much better now.

Kind Regards,

Jenni
