"Medical Assessment and ward 43 - endoscopy clinic - Tameside Hospital"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I would like to be able to find out what I was being treated for, and reports sent to my doctor so I could find out. I asked on the ward but I did not get a proper answer.

Thank you for submitting your comments about our services. Firstly I would like to apologise that you were unable to obtain information whilst you were on ward 43. I would like to assure you that the Trust has been extremely proactive in promoting initiatives to improve communication for patients. Recently every clinical inpatient area introduced communication sheets which are held at the bottom of patient’s beds. In addition there are posters indicating the process and contact numbers for anyone seeking an appointment with a consultant.

In relation to information to your general practitioner they will receive a discharge letter which will contain information regarding your current condition, diagnostics performed, diagnosis of your condition and treatment.

I am sorry not to have responded sooner. However, Tameside General Hospital has only recently obtained the facility to reply to comments made on this website.
