About: New Victoria Hospital / Day surgery

(as the patient),

I visited the day surgery unit at the New Victoria Hospital recently to have a small procedure carried out. 

From start to finish I was treated with dignity and respect and was reassured the whole day, even when there were a few delays. I was lucky that my procedure did go ahead and I am eternally grateful, personally knowing the pressures hospital staff come under. The attitudes and approach to patients were noticed and are highly commendable, especially the 2 nurses looking after me. Megan was one and the other nurse had an Allison in her name not sure if it was first name or surname but I was last in the unit and I got escorted out safely and given a chair to help me to the car by this nurse.  This was so helpful and appreciated. 

My consultant Ms Seaward, is outstanding. Carrie her secretary is a joy to communicate with. 

The anaesthetists and recovery staff were all amazing. 

What a lovely experience.

Thank you for making an anxious time for me comfortable and pleasant.

Thank you for leaving our unit a Care Opinion feedback post. Feedback from patients is always warmly received by staff. The words you have used to describe the way you felt treated by the staff with dignity and respect are the standards of care that we aim to emanate every day here in the Day surgery Unit, so I am delighted to read that you experienced this as a patient while in our care and that you were able to have a comfortable and pleasant patient journey.

I will ensure that your words of thankfulness and gratefulness are shared with all of the Day Surgery team, but especially Ms Seaward’s team and with the nurses you mentioned by name, Megan and Allison, they are both a credit to our team. Feedback from our patients certainly keeps the team striving to deliver best care they can every day, thank you.
