"Let down by GP"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as the patient),

It feels like I have been neglected by many forms of the NHS such as pharmacists, GPs, nurses, midwifes, health visitors and dentists, and I have been let down once again.

After being given a mental health diagnosis and let out into the world with no support (again) I have suffered from depression (not surprisingly).

I Called my doctors on Friday, it took 214 calls to get through from 8:30am, finally get connected half an hour later to be told no appointments left, however they managed to give me an emergency appointment, (thoughts of suicide).

Three hours later got said appointment, only to be told they don't want to deal with me (again), it's a hassle, they rebooked me for Monday for an appointment with the nurse.

I now have all weekend to suffer before being seen on the Monday, I don't feel Monday's visit to the nurse will be any different to all the other times I have been let down by the NHS.

I suffer daily with pain because I feel like I am being neglected by the NHS.

Dear Veee

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us via Care Opinion. I am very sorry to hear of the issues you have highlighted and that you feel you have been neglected by the NHS.

I am responding on behalf of Primary Care regarding your comments about your GP Practice. The Primary Care Team can liaise with your GP Practice to make them aware of your comments and feedback. To do this, please can you send an email to HSCPAdmin@east-ayrshire.gov.uk (marked for the attention of Primary Care) providing your details and the name of the GP Practice you are registered with.

If you wish to remain anonymous, we can feed back your comments to the GP Practice for their awareness and learning.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I am so very sorry it has not been positive on this occasion and that you feel let down.

Kind regards

Danielle
