My father was recently re admitted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he sadly passed away.
Sadly the family arrived not long after his death.
I would like to take the opportunity to record my thanks to the junior Dr who delivered the death message in a compassionate manner (apologies I didn’t pick up her name and I did not see a name tag).
I would especially like to thank Karen who sat and prayed with my dad as he passed away (he had asked for a chaplain, however they were unable to arrive in time).
The ward was very busy at the time but Karen took the time to be with him and had a quick chat with us prior to us leaving the hospital and described the peaceful manner in which he passed, which was a great comfort to the family.
Karen then returned to her duties in a busy, short staffed ward. She completely embodied the values of the NHS in her compassionate, caring and professional manner.
