I had a FESS and Septoplasty with the ENT team at NHS Fife. The team were thorough in explaining what would happen during and after the procedure.
I was given some control over the choices being made as I wear a closed-loop insulin pump which makes decisions as to my blood glucose levels. The anaesthetist and surgical team understood the benefit of remaining on this rather than setting up a drip for insulin which undoubtedly improved my recovery and response to surgery.
When recovering, the team on the ward kept me informed as to how I might feel in the coming hours and days and gave me contact details should things change.
"The team were thorough"
