"Long wait"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I was walking in the city with my husband and kids when all of a sudden I became dizzy. I tried to lean against a wall to rest then I lost consciousness.

After this we came to Royal Gwent hospital with my husband and kids to emergency in late afternoon, was seen by a doctor who told me I needed to go to medical assessment unit (MAU). I got to MAU at about an hour later, waited for a bit then my blood work and an ECG were done after another hour. I was told I would need to wait but little did I know I would wait till 11 sitting in the waiting area in uncomfortable chairs that long. I asked several times what could be happening but they tell me the doctor is about to see me. My husband and the kids went back home but he couldn't sleep seeing as he had to come back with the kids to pick me up. We left the hospital after 10hrs+ and they told me my results were fine.

Bear in mind the patients that waiting were around 12. Why did i have to be subjected to all these hours only to be told by the doctor that my results were fine, I could go home.
