"I'll never forget your loving kindness and care"

About: Cancer Services / Radiotherapy

(as a service user),

When you're on your very personal cancer experience, it's so important that you feel safe, looked after and that you're seen as a real person. The Ninewells team, from the patient transport to the reception staff and the radiographers, all made me feel safe, seen and heard.

I can't thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism throughout my treatment as it made a really tough time a lot easier. You can feel very isolated undergoing treatment and I felt the radiographers took time to check I was doing ok and gave me the support, encouragement and advice I needed on each day of my treatment. Being told it's ok to cry and that the struggle is real was a huge relief as sometimes we just can't be strong and make out it's all ok!

My thanks and huge gratitude goes to everyone who has looked after me for the week of my treatment, I'll never forget your loving kindness and care.

Dear WeeBee67, thank youfor taking the time to feedback your experience of our Radiotherapy Department. My name is Bob, one of the Support Workers who would have welcomed you to our department.

I am so pleased that you felt so safe and regarded as a real person (for want of better words). I understand that from our Transport Drivers, Receptionists and Therapeutic Radiographers, professionalism and empathy go a long way to ensuring that every one of our patients feel as comfortable as they can do and I will pass on your kind words to them.

On behalf of everyone here, I hope you benefit from your treatments and wish you well for the future.

Kind regards... Bob

Many thanks Bob. You were the first face I saw in the department and I knew from that moment I'd be well looked after.
