I just wanted to write a little note of appreciation to Michelle, the infant feeding lead in Craigavon Hospital.
My 3rd baby was extremely unwell in hospital and lost a great deal of weight when only a few weeks old, and breastfeeding through her illness and following discharge was so difficult . Alongside this , I was having great difficulty getting breastfeeding off to a good this time in general due to several issues. As this was my 3rd baby , I knew that something wasn’t right but had tried everything myself with no success.
Michelle supported me greatly throughout this difficult time when I was referred to her by my Health Visitor . Through working with Michelle I regained all of my confidence in breastfeeding my little girl and was able to overcome all of the obstacles which we faced at the beginning of our feeding journey. Michelle was also able to sign post me to ENT services for a tongue tie assessment. Michelle’s amazing knowledge, kindness and dedication in her role combined are absolutely why I am still breastfeeding my little girl at 3 months . She is now thriving and we haven't looked back.
It takes a very special person to work with mums and babies on their feeding journeys, and particularly during difficult times and Michelle was most definitely my ‘angel’ during a time when I was so close to giving up!! Thank you so much from both of us !!
"Amazing knowledge, kindness and dedication"
