"Excellent quick service"

It is unusual for me to phone my GP. After much persuasion from my daughter I phoned my local GP practise at 9am not really expecting to get through or indeed an appointment any time soon. I had been suffering extreme hip pain for a few days. I was not sleeping and over-the-counter painkillers weren’t helping. My hot water bottle was my constant companion.

To my surprise, Glenmill Medical Practice answered my call just after 9am and after a few questions offered me a same-day appointment. I was asked if I minded seeing a student before the doctor. 

Both student and doctor were kind, thorough and answered all of my questions without me feeling any pressure of time.

I was referred to Stobhill for a walk-in X-ray. Again, all the Stobhill staff were lovely. I felt well cared for and looked after.

I have now returned home (less than 2 hours later) with painkilling medication and a good idea of next steps.

It was not the experience I was expecting, I must admit. At every stage it exceed expectations. Well done to everyone involved. It is much appreciated.
