"Emergency Care for my Mum who has Alzheimer’s after a serious fall"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Mum was recently admitted to Croydon University Hospital A&E department with a suspected fracture as she was in severe pain after a fall. The Major care team were fantastic - it’s a very difficult situation because Mum has advanced Alzheimer’s and therefore felt very distressed and confused. It materialised that poor Mum has indeed fractured her sacrum.

We wish to recognise the outstanding help of:

- your Major’s doctor Shaun who was so very kind yet clear in his help and diagnosis and left no stone unturned as Mum has underlying bone density issues.

- Gloria and Mary Beth from your nursing team who took care of Mum overnight and managed her extreme distress.

- Jordan and Sanjay from your specialise frailty team then stepped in and ensured Mum’s situation was assessed from 360 degrees before she was carefully transported back to her care home.

We can’t thank you all enough for making an extremely stressful and difficult situation as straightforward as possible.
