"The stress is really telling on us"

About: St John's Hospital / X-rays & Scans

(as a relative),

My husband suffered a first ever seizure this year. He was self employed, and had to stop work as his driving licence was revoked. He has now been waiting 4 weeks for result of MRI. Apart from the worry about his health, our livelihood is being affected, as without results he can't apply for the return of his licence. The stress is really telling on us, as we have no income other than my state pension. The letter for his MRI stated he would have results in 7-10 days.

Dear jess82,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us on Care Opinion.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband’s health and the difficult time you and your family have been experiencing. I can understand how the delay in receiving his results has added to the stress you all have been through, and I would like to apologise for that.

I contacted the service and have been made aware that there is a backlog at present. Due to the anonymity of Care Opinion, we are unable to provide you with a proper response about your husband’s case. If you would like us to look into this, I would ask you to please contact the Patient Experience Team to provide further details, that will enable the service to look into his situation and chase it up for you. You can contact the Patient Experience Team either by email at LOTH.feedback@nhs.scot or by telephone 0131 536 3370 (lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm) and a member of the team will be happy to assist you.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback.

Best wishes,

Helen Wallace
