"Parking for blue badge holders"

About: Renal Service / Renal Unit

(as the patient),

I am a blue badge holder who is restricted with my mobility and I can never get a disabled parking space as they are always taken up by cars that do NOT display blue badges. I find it very hard to walk such distance into the hospital and am very much burdened by this evey hospital appointed I have attended to date, and I have to attend the renal department regularly so this is an ongoing problem.

Good morning Peter, my name is Teresa and I am the Renal Research nurse in Daisy Hill. I am very sorry to hear that you have been experiencing ongoing difficulties with accessing the disabled parking while attending your renal appointments. I appreciate how frustrating it is when you see cars parked that are not displaying a blue badge. Unfortunately parking within the site is not adequate to meet the demand. We are presently in discussions with estates about creating more disabled spaces close to the main building and are hopeful that this can happen in the near future.
