"The whole experience was first class."

About: New Victoria Hospital / Day surgery

I was booked for a procedure at Glasgow New Victoria hospital. The whole experience was first class. From pre op assessment, through to my check-in, op, to aftercare I received excellent attention from every member of staff. So often this is not the case.

I had to use the private system 3 years ago due to NHS waiting times, for the same procedure, and this latest time, the hospital care was just as good if not better. I did have to wait a long time for my op, but I understand why, and this is no reflection of the medical staff. 

I continue to stand with our NHS. I will support it, and it’s legendary staff in any way that I can. I recognise that my vote at the ballot box counts more than ever before. I will support junior doctors and all of the NHS staff.

Too many people to thank, and I can’t remember all of their names, but know that everyone showed kindness and professionalism that is world class, under very challenging circumstances. I would like to mention two people

1. Leigh, the Health Care Assistant at my pre op blood test. Despite being recently qualified she is just exceptional.

2. My consultant and his urology team. Mr Eronini’s experience, professionalism and compassion gave me great peace of mind ahead of the op. He listened and that was evident from our conversation pre and post op.

Thank you for leaving our unit a Care Opinion feedback post. Feedback from patients is always warmly received by staff. The words you have used to describe the way you felt treated by the staff with professionalism and compassion are some of the standards of care that we aim to emanate every day here in the Day surgery Unit, so I am delighted to read that you experienced this as a patient while in our care and that you were able to have a comfortable and pleasant patient journey.

I will ensure that your words of thankfulness and gratefulness are shared with all of the Day Surgery team, but especially Mr Eronini’s team. Feedback from our patients certainly keeps the team striving to deliver best care they can every day, thank you.
