"They really make a difference"

About: Community Therapy Services / Lymington and New Milton

(as a relative),

I would like to give some feedback for the Lymington and New Milton Community Integrated Team. Tracy came out and assessed my husband for a 12 week balance course. He has Parkinsons, dementia and Alzheimer's. He didn't want to go at first, however the team, both pre and post Christmas time, have been so supportive, with a special mention of Monique, who has helped us a lot.

The sessions are informal yet fun - I could hear the fun from outside! There's also a good ratio of staff to patients, with about 5-6 people in the sessions with 3 team members there to support them. The sessions have been very practical as well. For example, my husband has been shown how to get off the floor using a chair, as well as how to get into a chair from standing. He actually misses the sessions now that they are finished. We have looked into more activities like this and I contacted a Parkinson's Support charity, who were able to refer us-there is a waiting list but hopefully this will progress with this.

I want to thank the community team so much - they work so hard and they work from the heart. They really make a difference. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your experience with the sessions and balance group run by the Lymington and New Milton therapy team. I will pass on your comments to the team. It sounds like the visits with Monique and the falls class have been very beneficial to your husband. It is great to hear that he is motivated to go to another group to continue to promote his mobility.

Kind regards,

Ellie (Team Lead)
