"Patients not being ready for collections"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a service user),

I have noticed for some time now, that patients are not ready for gym collections in the morning, When we arrive on the wards, the staff have to go and fetch the patients from wherever they are, the communal room, the bedrooms etc. They should be dressed and ready for collection in the foyer so we can ensure a prompt collection and therefore mean we get more time in the fitness rooms. Please be ready!

Thank you for your patience in receiving this response.

We do encourage patients to take ownership of their own activity programmes and be prepared for collection. Although, some patients need a little bit more support in this area than others.

If this is an issue you are experiencing on your ward, have you taken it to your community meeting for discussion?

If this is wider problem please attend or escalate to your Care Stream Involvement Meeting and we can collaboratively discuss ways we can improve the experience for everyone.

Thanks,

Chloe.

It is something that is prevalent in the hospital amongst other wards.

Hopefully senior officials will take action and inform ward managers to take to their community meetings to let patients know that they should be ready for collection promptly.
