"They took great care of me"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Colorectal surgery Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / pre-operative assessment

(as the patient),

I had been having intermittent episodes of severe chest pain. I’d had lots of tests on my heart but they were al fine. The last time I had an episode of the pain was around early May 2024 so went to Lincoln A&E. The treatment I received there was fantastic and the doctor and surgical team diagnosed an issue with my gallbladder and referred me for a scan a couple of days later.

The scan showed I had gallstones and sludge so gallbladder removal was the agreed course of action. I received my surgery date a few days later which was in early June 2024 at Grantham Hospital.

All of the pre-op appointments were held at Lincoln Hospital where I was given all of the information I needed and had the relevant tests carried out.

The staff at Grantham Hospital were absolutely brilliant and took great care of me. I had the surgery and was allowed home the same day.

I have been extremely impressed by the care provided and would like to say a massive thank you to any of the staff that helped to care for me at both Lincoln and Grantham Hospitals.
