I came to meet two workers at the NCCRT. One said he was a clinical social worker. He listened and eventually said he "thought" I was at the beginning of living with Dementia because I have a crap memory. I was definitely suicidal, angry and left there feeling ALSO full of anxiety about the new "diagnoses" Fortunately my GP did not think I was dementing.
Who is qualified to make such a diagnosis? I understand it is even difficult for a senior psychologist to make. Aren't there blood tests that need to be made for such a diagnosis, ntm brain scans?
How could he possibly have any idea?
