The operation took place at the Day Surgery Unit of The Vale of Leven General Hospital.
The operation was conducted by Joanna, who had discussed the issue with me over the last couple of years until I finally agreed to go ahead with the procedure.
On the day of the operation, she explained in great detail the procedure, and helped put me at ease. The operation was a success with no issues.
My thanks goes to Joanna and her operating team for carrying out such a smooth operation.
Joanna also took the time to see me during recovery and provided me reassurance that all went well. She was absolutely brilliant on the day.
Prior to the operation, all the nursing staff and Connor, one of the anaesthetist were also terrific. Connor asked me a serious of questions and explained his role and the nursing team all helped me to settle nicely. I could not fail to be relaxed.
I have been very fortunate to never have had an operation in my life and the nursing staff due to their experience and to their positive manner made any nerves disappear.
The nurse assigned to me was Sarah, who both before and after the surgery treated me like a VIP. She was absolutely brilliant throughout and a credit to her profession. I interacted with a number of nurses on the ward including the Ward Sister and they were all absolutely superb.
What struck me throughout my experience, was how they all worked as a team to look after the patients. They were positive, upbeat and could not do enough for me. Therefore, I was given plenty of attention and they were all happy to have a bit of banter. They made it such an enjoyable experience, when it could have been a nervous one.
Credit should go to the whole team, with a special mention to both Joanna and Sarah. Thank you all!
