Initially, my admission on Ridgeway ward, I struggled with the ward environment, the rules and regulations and also find it difficult to build rapport with staff. I had a few up and down, suffering with depression, however when my doctor reviewed my medication, put me on antidepressant which has helped to improve my mental state.
Also, attending therapeutic groups has helped me to develop further skills to cope with situations. Now I spend more time socialising with my peers and I have also build good therapeutic rapport with staff. I am more settled and I am positive with my treatment program.
My goal is to move to Cannock treatment ward and I am very hopeful that I will make it, receive further treatment which will allow me to be back in the community with my family.
I would like specially to thank Dr Obi and Social worker Lynsey to give me a chance, not given up on me and has always been supportive. I would also like to thank Ridgeway staff for all their support.
