"Hospital menu"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I have a food allergy. I cannot eat Alliums. I was offered roast lamb, beef, chicken every day, the same vegetables, mash carrots, and peas every day. When I asked for a yoghurt, I was told no, it might be contaminated. The final day they managed a salad. I am taking Warfarin and I am not allowed dark green vegetables but I can eat light green fresh vegetables. While I have been in hospital I have lost weight. The hospital menu has been dire.

Hi Sierraks89

I apologise for the delay in replying to your message

Thank you for you feedback regarding your allium allergy, I am sorry this was not picked up during your stay in MAU and fedback to the catering team. We do have a range of allergy aware meals that would have been suitable for you had we been aware.

I would ask that if you are admitted to NDDH again to notify a member of the clinical team who will arrange for a dietician to have a chat with you about suitable food choices.

Kind regards

Mike Oldfield
