"The small things are what make the biggest impact"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a carer),

My father attended ED after a fall for imaging and investigations. He spent 24 hours in Majors B, which was, as usual, exceptionally busy.

I would like to pass on my thanks and appreciation to Chris (Band 3) for his help and support, not just to my father but also to me (the cups of tea were a life-saver).

He managed my father so well, as he can be very difficult sometimes, particularly in a strange environment and recognised that I had been on the go for 24 hours and was struggling as well.

Sometimes the small things are what make the biggest impact.

Hi DeeMage,

I’m John Barron, Service Manager for Urgent and Emergency Care. Thank you for taking a few moments to share your experience. While the patient takes priority, we recognise family/carers are on the journey too. I’ll be sure to pass on your appreciation to Chris. It’ll be a great encouragement to hear appreciation for "the small things".

Best regards

John
