My mother in law was recently admitted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital AU4 in the early hours and was transferred across to ward 51 the next day.
Since admission I have spoke with various staff informing them of my mother in laws ongoing self neglect and lack of personal hygiene all impacting on health problems.
The next day I spoke with the ward doctor and a course it antibiotics was agreed on for UTI/chest infection this however was not prescribed causing it to be delayed until 3 days after admission to start the course.
Her personal care has been little to none, there has been no showering or teeth brushing since admission and I feel she has been left to waste away in the bed in her own filth.
Today her pad was yet again saturated to bursting point with no pad on the bed which was also soaked through and she is in a hospital gown despite the locker full of her own nightwear.
I feel her basic human needs are not being met and the care is falling well below standard. Every staff member we approach is either just helping on the ward or finishing giving us little to no answers.
My mother in law had a fall which we were called about but again no more information when visiting on the ward. It feels like all our concerns are falling on deaf ears and fear the worst for my mother in laws outcome from this admission.
"It feels like all our concerns are falling on deaf ears"
