"I was so grateful for their patience and understanding"

About: East Kilbride Locality Support Service / Treatment Room (East Kilbride)

(as the patient),

I had a hernia operation and was due to remove my dressing but being a big wuss I was scared to do it myself.  When I went to the health centre for a blood test I asked  the nurse if she could remove it for me.

I was under the impression that nurses did the blood tests but it is phlebotomist job so she was not allowed to remove my dressing.  Before doing the blood test she went out the room and returned  a few minutes later with a nurse to removed the dressing which turned out to be painless due to her expertise.  The blood test was also painless.  I was so grateful for their patience and understanding with me.

I have been lucky in life and never needed a lot of medical treatment.  So a big thank you to Margaret  and Alyson at Hunter Health Centre.
