"I have the best GP practice!"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as a service user),

I have the best GP practice! I wish every NHS Forth Valley GP practice could adopt this model! There is an emergency walk in clinic every morning where you will be seen and you really don’t wait long even when the waiting room is full. The receptionist staff are all lovely, professional, friendly and approachable. The GPs/ANPs/HCAs truly listen, despite their likely constant pressures.

I had an upper respiratory virus where I felt awful and after 2 weeks it felt oddly worse to the point I had to call in sick to work for a week and am a nurse myself for the NHS. I felt awful being off work but I was physically unable to go & did not want to pass on any bugs to patients or colleagues.

Dr Beyer was really helpful and listened to my concerns and listened to my chest, which was reassuring as I was worried due to feeling worse, whatever I had was maybe going deeper. He said to return in a week if not any better.

I was silly and did not return in a week, thinking it would get better but developed sinusitis as I have done before, which made me feel really awful. After a week I had to go back and luckily seen Dr Beyer and a lovely nurse (possibly in training for ANP role). Again, was seen really quickly, with pleasant reception staff and Dr Beyer prescribed some oral antibiotics. After a day of these I felt so much better and did not need pain killers! It was such a relief especially as a busy working mum - being unwell just makes life so much harder!

Thank you so much Dr Beyer and Park Avenue Medical Practice in Stirling! It’s the best practice in the world!
