About: The Lawson Practice

I had a query about my bone health as I am a 72 yr old woman who has had 2 minor fractures in the last 5 months and was told after x ray that I had 'thinning bones'. As a vegan I wanted diet and lifestyle advice to prevent further deterioration. I first requested this at end of May. A GP (not mine) called and said they'd book me for a dexa scan, and once result was known then they would discuss further. Original appt in July but I was able to change it to 6th June. At appt I was advised GP would get result in a week. Approx 10 days after I called and was told no result. On 19th I sent an email asking about it. On 21st I called again and had to complete a form which promised a callback in 24 hrs. Called again today (24th) and was told no email or form from me had been received. Dexa scan result was sent to the Gp on 11th June. I asked why no-one had been in touch and was told rudely that it was up to patients to call for results! I asked if I could speak to someone and was told no, but another receptionist would call me back. Meanwhile in the NHS records which GP's should complete there is no mention of the dexa scan or result. Beyond frustrating! I am trying to take preventative action and feel as if I'm being obstructed
