Staff attitude
I first encountered Mr. Gupta last year at my first ever eye injections. I was terrified and had just come straight from laser treatment to have both eyes injected.
Mr. Gupta noted my anxiety and explained at great length the procedure and addressed any concerns that i might have had. He was patient, kind and calm. The procedure was carried out with great skill and efficiency. He communicated everything as it was being done in a soothing and kindly voice. He then added me to his list to ensure I would receive a consistent quality of care.
I have had difficulty in getting an appointment as the service is currently overwhelmed with the number of patients requiring their care. I called to tell them that I was experiencing a vitreous haemorrhage in my left eye. I was called back by one of the nursing staff and she gave me some advice and took note of what I was experiencing. When my condition was brought to the attention of Mr. Gupta he insisted on seeing me for laser treatment as soon as possible and even performed the procedure himself.
I feel incredibly privileged to be under the care of this consultant. He has a very kind and engaging manner when dealing with me as a patient.
Mr. Gupta stands out as a consultant with a refreshing approach. His humility, kindness and relatability set him apart from the typical consultant stereotype. These admirable qualities are paired with impressive skill, extensive experience, and deep knowledge.
I should also call out the rest of the doctors, nurses and staff at the macular clinic. They treat the patients professionally with care and respect. Every interaction i have had there has been a pleasant one.
