"Wish I'd been assessed properly first time"

About: Urgent Community Response / Mid Notts Urgent Community Response Team

(as a service user),

I had great difficulty once in bed getting myself up in a sitting position as need to sit up as have COPD. Operation was revision hip replacement so only 1 leg and 1 arm to get up the bed. 1 arm nerve damage from a shoulder replacement. I spent 4 nights sitting in a chair.

The 1st urgent response team came on the Friday. It was decided a pillow lifter would help. It didn't and no one came  bak to check. I spent next 3 more days ringing for help.

On the Monday i ordered an electric pillow lifter for hire.

The next day a hospital bed was delivered.  The 2nd urgent response team brilliant, they actually followed up to make sure all ok. They were wonderful. I just wish i'd been assessed properly and followed up 1st time plus wasted money cos although items from mobility hire not even taken out of box they refused a refund.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to offer our apologies for the experience you had initially with UCR.

I would very much like to understand what went wrong regarding the first contact and follow up you had with our team, so that I can understand how to improve our service.

If you would be open to having a discussion, and / or if you wouldn't mind providing me with your details so I can look back what what happened, please could you email me at UCR-feedback@nottshc.nhs.uk

Kind regards,

Emma Moore - Team Lead

Unfortunately there has been no further contact from the provider of the feedback and we were unable to trace the specific event from the details provided, despite our best efforts. We would still very much like to understand the finer details.
