"Kidney stone"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Renal (Nephrology)

(as a service user),

In February 2024, I was admitted to DGRI due to an 8mm kidney stone causing a blockage. The next morning I was operated on. A stent was put in place and the next day, I was allowed home and was told in 5-6 week's I would have an appointment to get the stone removed. Unfortunately, no appointments have been given. I call each week for an update and am always told there isn't any appointments available. I'm on week 21 of having my stent, with no operation in sight. The pain is almost unbearable and only helped by Morphine tablets. Mental health is at an all-time low.
