My father recently had an appointment to have a CT scan in Craigavon. On arrival the signs to CT Department were followed, dad uses a rollator at the moment because he cannot put any weight on his foot, thankfully he had this as he had to stop on several occasions to rest as he is in constant pain and catch his breath.
Eventually a member of staff was seen and asked how much further, only to be told to keep going and to the right through double doors. Upon reaching this reception it was explained this is the wrong area completely, the girls were very helpful as one of them went and got a wheelchair for dad to sit in and took everyone to the correct location.
There were absolutely no issues with any staff member but for a major hospital to lack correct signage for elderly and disabled people to be sent on a wild goose chase all for the sake of putting a correctly displayed sign up is verging on cruelty. Can someone with some common sense please look into to this to avoid unnecessary long walks for those not fit and able, and no doubt would help staff too.
