I had to attend UHW for an ultrasound scan. I was initially a little apprehensive as, from experience, knew the scan could potentially involve an internal assessment.
On arriving within the department I was seen quickly by Radiographer Wendy and a CSW whose name I didn't catch.
My fears were quickly alleviated, Wendy was completely professional, calm, discreet and put me at ease. She maintained my dignity throughout, which I greatly appreciated. She explained everything and the assessment was comfortable and pain-free.
I very much appreciated her professionalism, expertise and experience. I certainly felt in good hands.
Quite often the public only think of Doctors and Nurses when they think about the staff working within our hospitals, however allied health professionals, like Wendy, provide invaluable services and expertise, they really are important cogs in the larger wheel that is our NHS.
So thank you, to Wendy and the radiology department, for providing such a high level of care, compassion and expertise.
