"Very little for me to do"

About: Princess of Wales Community Hospital / Cottage Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have found it quite boring on Cottage Ward. I have been here for 12 weeks and there is very little for me to do. I sit and watch TV. I am told I am not allowed to go for a walk but I how will I keep fit and active if I don't move much?

The majority of staff are nice and good at their job. They are very busy so sometimes I have to wait a bit when I ring the bell.

They could do with a better food menu as it doesn't change much.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback during your stay on the ward.

I am sorry to hear that you have had limited activities and I would encourage you to talk to the staff about this that are nursing you on the ward.

We aim to encourage patients to use the day room for lunch times and the Therapy staff provide exercise and Therapy related games so I would encourage you to liaise with the team regarding participation of these activities.

We would always encourage and aim to empower patients to actively engage in rehabilitation so please do liaise with the team regarding this as we would want you to become stronger as you spend time on the ward.

Thank you once again for your valuable comments and we wish you all the very best for the rest of your stay.
