"My daughter tripped at her childminder's and cut her head."

About: Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre / Minor Injuries

(as a parent/guardian),

I was very worried as the gash on my daughter's head looked quite deep.

I picked her up from her childminder and took her immediately to Whitehills Minor Ailments in Forfar.
She was seen straight away and the nurses took exceptional care of her and examined her thoroughly. The nurse was brilliant with my child as she did all the tests and showed good humour which helped my child a lot. She then glued her cut and the other nurse took my daughter next door to choose a paint set. And gave her a sticker while the nurse who treated my child was providing advice and after care instructions to me.
I was very impressed and assured by both nurses when we left as I had felt quite anxious for my daughter at the beginning.

Thank you to both so much!

Dear disinfectantgs77,

Thank you for taking the time to complete a Care Opinion about your experience when attending Forfar Minor Injury Unit. Your opinion really matters to us. I hope your daughter is recovering well at home. I am glad the staff in Minor Injuries were able to reassure you during this worrying time. We are well equipped to care for children and try to make them feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. It sounds like the stickers and paint set were a hit.

I will ensure that the staff at Forfar Minor Injury Unit are made aware of your kind feedback.

Regards

Lauren

Hello disinfectantgs77,

Thank you for taking the time to post your story on Care Opinion. The feedback we receive helps us review our service so is very much appreciated.

I am sorry to hear that your daughter banged her head and developed a wound, I hope the wound has healed well and not caused your daughter too much distress.

It is lovely to hear that you were happy with the treatment your daughter received and the staff were helpful and able to ease your anxiety as well as treat your daughter. We are a nurse led service at the MIIU and always strive to give the best possible care to each person.

I will make sure to pass on your kind words to the staff at Whitehills MIIU.

Kind regards

Donna
