I was discharged from community midwives but tore my stitches after a third degree tear. My doctor spoke to my previous community midwife, who phoned and said to go to Yeovil hospital and the ward name and someone would see me.
I went when told, waited with my 6-week-old baby for over 2 hours, to then be told - this service is for brand new mothers, not mothers with 6-week-old babies, I shouldn’t be there, my stitches are probably fine, and it’s unlikely they’d be torn.
I cried and was sent home in tears, no apology, nobody checked if I was ok. Just had to pay an expensive parking ticket and try to work out feed times with my newborn for nothing!
I will never go to Yeovil maternity department again in future, if I’m lucky enough to have another baby.
