About: Fife Community Services / Speech and Language Therapy

(as a parent/guardian),

My son has completed the DLD and me course and I (his Mother) completed the DLD and me parent course. The information, resources and support has been amazing and we appreciated having access and support from the service.

Its something we will use to support my sons continued development and also something I will use to raise awareness, helping both my son and others.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such positive feedback about the DLD courses for individuals with DLD and parents/carers of young people with DLD.

My name is Hilary and I have the pleasure of leading the Fife Speech & Language Therapy Service. It is really wonderful to hear how supported you and your son felt by accessing the courses. These courses are still relatively new, so your feedback helps us to shape how they change and develop over time. It is good to hear that the information, resources and support we offered was right for you and your son.

It's really positive that you feel confident to support your son's continued language development and that you will use the information the Speech & Language Therapists provided to raise awareness. Thank you in anticipation for your help in raising awareness - you will understand that most people have not heard about DLD which means it is still not well understood, so it is beneficial when people with experience of DLD in their own or family life help to raise that awareness.
