"My care"

About: Community Services - North Devon / Midwifery

(as the patient),

I received brilliant care when it came to my scheduled appointments, my midwife was absolutely amazing.

The only thing I would change is when I had my first child the midwife’s I had where around for an emergency appointment between mon-fri 9-5 if there was a problem; this meant not a stressful journey to the nearest big hospital for something that could have been done in the community. Also when it come to the end I had sweeps done but these weren’t in my community midwife’s I had to travel as no appointments/ midwife available. I did feel sometimes that unless it was a routine appointment there wasn’t any time or space for an appointment/ checkup

Dear peppersq83

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback to us about your care with us in your pregnancy.

I am really pleased that you had a positive experience with your planned appointments with us.

I am sorry that you didn't feel we were able to provide any urgent appointment or membrane sweep, in a setting of your choosing which incurred additional travel time for you. We do try as a team to provide this where we can but it appears we did not do this for you on this occasion.

It is really important that we hear your feedback as it is valuable to us to ensure we continue to offer the best service we can at all times. I will ensure that your feedback is shared at our next team meeting which is attended by both our midwifery and administrative teams, to raise the awareness and importance of seeing our women/birthing people, at a place of their choice where this is possible and right to do so.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and I hope that you and your family are well and enjoying your new arrival.

Angela
