"We were so impressed with the whole team"

About: Podiatry / Hospital Foot Protection Team

(as a service user),

My teenage son had an extremely painful ingrown toenail - it was quite advanced and distressing.

Once treated, the other side of it became ingrown, this resulted in more stress, more time off doing the sports he loved and more surgery. This went on for 5 months and throughout this time he was in the care of the Belfast Podiatry Team (Suzanne, Ruth, Gary, Glenda and Poppy).

The care he received was outstanding, not only in terms of the treatment - surgery and between surgery treatment to minimise discomfort and reduce infection risk - but also in terms of the way he was spoken to, every single person we saw was kind and considerate and reassuring. On two occasions while waiting for surgery, he was in a lot of pain and the team made a real effort to find us emergency appointments so he could receive prompt treatment.

We felt the whole service was really well joined up, so whoever we saw knew exactly what the issues were, and it felt smooth and very well run.

We were so impressed with the whole team and touched by the terrific care he received.

Thank you.
