I had been in a car accident 7 months ago and at the time was referred to physio by my GP.
I attended my appointment with the physio recently and I spent the entirety of my journey home in tears by the way they made me feel.
This physiotherapist showed not one ounce of empathy for the pain I was in. I felt their dismissive behaviour was appalling and they even told me I shouldn't be there. When I explained how sore I was and the consequences it was having on my life, they told me, in what I felt was a sarcastic manner, that there was nothing they could do about my job. They went on to state I shouldn't have pain even after me telling them the severity of my pain and location. Surely a patient's pain is what they say it is, not what a professional thinks it should be?
When examining my range of motion they told me I had shown better range when they were observing me and insinuated that I was being fraudulent. I have never been treated in such a patronising, unprofessional manner by any NHS employee before.
