"Overall not impressed"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

Attended ED tonight with my husband. I work in a different department in the hospital and was shocked at how miserable and mopey the staff were.

When we went through to see the doctor, the cubicle we were put into had dried blood all over the floor and the place was untidy and not clean.

A Health Care Assistant took basic observations and my husbands BP was elevated and this was not escalated until I raised it myself.

Overall not impressed.

Dear saturnxb53,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback following your attendance at the RDUH. I am sorry that you had a negative experience when attending the Emergency Department and that your interaction with staff was poor. We expect all our staff deliver the highest standards of care at all times whilst recognising at times this can be challenging in the current climate. I apologise that the cubicle in which you were seen was not to the standard it should have been and we are reviewing ways in which we can ensure we meet the expected levels of cleanliness throughout the department and your feedback is helpful in doing this.

Many Thanks

Gavin Best
