I attentded trauma therapy at the bungalows in Larbet from my psychotherapist Pat, my treatment has been very helpful and I have benefited to no end with his expertise.
During our sessions he recognised that I had shown signs of being neurodivergent with processing issues which means my brain works different from a neurotypical one. This was like a light bulb moment and for once I actually felt that someone had took the time and recognised what has maybe been wrong with me this whole time as I've always known I'm different in a way.
I am in my later 30s and I have suffered with this since I was a young girl, I've never felt good enough and I never really knew why, I was very sensitive and I couldn't fully succeed in school or jobs, or be as perfect or as fast as everyone else, so this has really made my past make a lot of sense now.
I also have a stronger bond with my family and I have been able to let go of some of that shame and guilt that I have carried over the years, I have also started setting boundaries and trying to put myself first. I know I have a lot of work to do but I am getting there slowly but surely.
I would like to thank Pat for his amazing work and help with my journey to becoming a better person and giving me the confidence to know that I am good enough and able to achieve things I may just need a little bit help and that's okay.
He also gave me some homework to do on nightmares as I have been having them quite bad lately and that has also been a great help as well.
So once again, thank you very much.
