"I had an accident two years ago and have been struggling"

About: South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust / Condition Management Programme

(as the patient),

I had a bad accident two years ago which resulted in two bleeds on the brain, a tremor in my hand, trouble with my hearing and loss of power in one leg for a time. I did my best to get on as well as i could, but found i was getting really tired and frustrated wondering what more i could do.

The help and support I received was good, activities and hand outs to go over things were helpful.

I think think there should be easier access to referrals and more information available at the time of the accident on support would have been good, to reduce the time waiting for support.

Dear Decemberbk56

Thank you very much for sharing your experience of the Condition Management Programme. Your feedback has been shared with all the staff and we are pleased that after your bad accident and the associated symptoms we were able to support you.

I am very glad that that the help and support you received was good and the information and activities were useful.

I appreciate your feedback regarding information about what support is available after an accident being provided and that access to services should be straight forward. We have an ongoing marketing plan for the Condition Management Programme to raise awareness of the programme and your feedback will ensure we focus on ensuring staff in the acute services in the Trust receive information about us and have access to our leaflets so that people can self-refer if they want access to the programme.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience as hopefully it will provide hope and encourage others in a similar situation to access the help available.

All the very best for the future.

Best wishes

Jane
