My son was admitted to ward 2c via the children's A&E at RHC. On arrival to A&E we were seen very quickly and within an hour and 20 mins of being seen we were escorted to ward 2c.
Throughout our time in A&E and within the ward we were kept fully informed of everything going on and staff truly spent the time listening to our concerns as parents and acting on those concerns appropriately. I honestly cannot fault a single thing, the care throughout was exceptional.
The ward staff were so visible too, always popping in to check in on us and if we ever needed anything they attended to it straight away. Even the domestic staff were lovely and made a real effort with my son and I. Both the ward and A&E were spotlessly clean too.
The kitchen area for parental use was well stocked too and this resource is truly a godsend as I have unfortunately had the experience of other children's hospitals where this is not available and it does make things harder without it.
Everyone involved in both the children’s A&E and Ward 2c should honestly be so proud of the amazing work they do - you truly go above and beyond and it is so appreciated. Thank you for looking after us as if we were one of your own - you have made such a worrying time as a parent so much easier.
"Excellent care"
