"Made me feel cared for and emotionally supported"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Early Pregnancy Unit Antrim Area Hospital / Ward C1 Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I experienced a baby loss & attended the EPU in Antrim on 4 different occasions over the past month. I want to highlight the care & compassion from Mary in the EPU , she was kind & caring! She made a very difficult time for me somewhat better! She deserves to be recognised & commended for what is a very difficult job.

I had to have a surgical management , Mary organised this all & talked me through it answering all my questions.

Niamh from c1 & all the students were excellent & again treated me with care and compassion. They were kind and respectful. Nothing was too much trouble & they ensured I was supported. Niamh is an excellent nurse and again made a very difficult time for me comfortable. The students on shift were an asset to the trust and will make lovely nurses and midwives in the future.

The theatre doctors and staff in recovery were also kind and caring towards me. The recovery staff made me feel comfortable and we had a laugh! It cheered me up.

Overall what was a very sad difficult time for me due to the staff members I’ve mentioned it made me feel cared for and emotionally supported. Thank you and I hope they get to hear the positive feedback.
